From Sister Berrett

Sister Dahlin - This is Sister Berrett.  My husband and I are the Senior Couple over the missionaries in the Bushrod Island District.  Today we attended a District meeting and did an apartment inspection at the Caldwell New Georgia apartment. We we able to spend some time with your son, Elder Dahlin.  We very much enjoyed our visit with him.  The District meeting held at their apartment was especially nice.  We were so glad we were able to attend.  I told Elder Dahlin that if he gave me your email address, I'd send you his picture.  It's always nice to be able to see your missionary and see that he is healthy and happy.

Working hard

Hello!!
Thats true. We enjoy so many things as Zone Leaders. I hope to be one throughout my mission. Such a great calling.
Yeah the frog is not bad. Tell Davis I said Hello! Africa is really just a different place and I think I will realize that more when you ask questions that show the difference. Right now I dont feel like a few things are strange but I know I will when I go back! I think it was Elder Orton that logged that. He was in my former branch and they were traveling about 9 miles a day. I want to move all the wood to the other side!!! I will do it just wait small yeah? haha
Well not too many things happened this week. I will send all of the pictures to you so you can see how we looked at the conference and how we looked after our service project. Just around two hours of hard work and im completely soaked in sweat. that small ting there? I sent you another letter recently Im not sure which one you received? Alright I will send pictures now!

Hello ma!!
Sounds like not so fun of a week with the sickness. I wish I could help now but I hope you know you have the Priesthood in the house! I actually was thinking about all the projects around the house and it would be fun to put in practice the time management I have learned on mission and help with the things around the house and If there are still things at Howard. I do miss you. Its all part of the work though and im happy for the time I still have on mission. I hope to baptize plenty more and help many more people.
Thats crazy you have been a seminary teacher for so long! You really are learning to be a Gospel scholar now. Dont forget that all of us as members are able to understand the doctrine of salvation by the spirit of God. So to share what you know to Sophia and Stanley is so great so they will be able to be more powerful in using their scriptures.
I want to know the details of that dream! Who and what was I complaining about?? I love dreams and ive really been learning to understand them a little more. I know I sent you a letter the other week explaining a dream that is personal but revealing about a gospel truth.
In the war stories I love Teancum and Moroni, they are powerful even though Teancum was a little less wise but thats alright.
Mom, aint you say you come convert to the truth now? Now what ting be the name of your missionaries?

What kind of dress do you want to have from here? If you could send pictures so I can get an idea then ill send pictures of different fabrics that they have.

So I really have become a marriage councilor! Yesterday the family we are teaching that needs to get a marriage certificate came to church. After church we went to their house and talked about a plan of action and how they can have a small wedding. It was great since they understand that it is for a remission of sins and so they will get married on a saturday morning and then on the same day we will baptize them all! The only thing is money for the certificate which will hold them back small but there are those that are willing to pitch in to help them gain it.

Also yesterday we ate frog! And ive eaten frog legs before.. But ive never eaten the whole body and head.. So yesterday I got the chance and I ate two! Legs, head, eyes, and all! Not bad. Im really not too sure whats normal or not anymore. One thing that was not normal was on Valentines day!! My companion and I were given an apple each!!!! That was the first time ive eaten an apple since ive been in Liberia. I might send you a picture of it :)

This week we had a few times to correct missionaries, Elder S is one that I wont forget because he reminds me of a few people. As soon as I started talking he would say "What!! Who are you!! Who are you!! Do you know who I am!!?" haha Ohh it was great. Hes about to finish his mission so he thinks hes too old for that kind of stuff. It made me laugh a lot. There are a few scriptures that came into my head but I just kept quiet..

The Zone Conference and Mission Council was great. Elder Curtis and his wife spoke to us and so did President and Sister Kirkham. Great instruction.
Alright well I will send a few pictures to show how the week went! Notice my awesome Jatala tie.. These are the kind of things I want to take home!
Love you!
Love,
Elder Elias Dahlin

2 kids from our compound and my moldy water bottle

sweet-oh!

Mother!!
Dont be sick!! It not correct.. I am glad you are feeling better though. I would ask if its malaria but most likely not..
Before I start talking I was wondering how Scotty is doing? I hope hes doing alright? Im not sure if you know Maddie leaves to England March 19th!! Wooh! Mission is sweet-oh!
This week was pretty great. This fifth was mission council and once again I forgot to take pictures with Elders! Specifically Elder Pentreath and Elder Skouson.. Ohh well. Tomorrow will be zone conference with Elder Curtis coming as our guest. He wants to have a council with the zone leaders in the morning so that will be cool. Mission council with President and a Seventy! Full day with mission council, Conference, then he will interview a few missionaries, then apartment inspections. Im not sure if we will teach tomorrow.
So we baptized a woman named Annie  saturday. Shes great and it was a good baptismal service. We were supposed to baptize 3 but the others are not ready yet. So so women being baptized! I am happy to say we have started teaching a few great families with potential Priesthood holders! The issue is always marriage but I hope they will get married soon. I guess I wont say much more but this week has been great. Hard work and full days which is awesome. I think this transfer will go by way too fast.
Have a great week and I hope you get completely better.
Love,
Your Son

Hello!!!
Well im so glad to hear from everyone and thank you for telling me so much! Thank you for all the pictures! Stanley looks so tall!!! and im not sure if I saw Gwinna or thats another older child... How did this happen!! :( She wont know me at all!! ey mann.. Mom you have to tell sister Stiles that Ive thought about her a few times and im so thankful for her gift to me! I use it a lot. The work really is being Hastened and thats crazy we have 38 missionaries out. That seems like a lot.
So I guess ill tell you about everything that happened this week!! Well the Elder I was serving with I have had a stressful week but ive learned so much. It felt really weird since my companion was still Elder Zolo and I was with Elder O. On sundays I was feeling bad since Sunday is a busier day for us and he had to do it by himself. We got transfer news on Saturday and I found out that im staying with ZOLO!! Wooh! Unfortunately I found out that Elder O. was going back to Nigeria.. I can say it now since he is on the plane home today. What a crazy week. Hes a great guy, sometimes it was just hard since he likes to talk through scriptures. There were just a few things he needed to work on which is sad he had to do it in Nigeria. yeah it was definitely a crazy week and weird to have someone go home early who was your companion for small time.
Now I am back with Elder Zolo in a great apartment! My MTC are now becoming Zone Leaders with me which is great! I will see them again at Mission Council Wednesday!
I guess theres not too much to say about this last week. Crazy, learned a lot, read a lot, and you might not believe me when I say I ate a hamburger! good stuff..
Alright I love you all! I will send some pictures
Love,
Elder Dahlin
